What is JPEG?
JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) is the most widely used image format for photos on the web. This format is designed for images with lots of colors and gradients, making it ideal for photography.
Why Compress JPEG Images?
Large image file sizes can create real problems. If you use these on a website, this will slow down your website. This can increase bounce rate, and it's also bad for search engines. If you have photos in JPEG format that have large file sizes, I recommend you to reduce the file size before uploading them.
How Does JPEG Compression Work?
JPEG compression reduces file size by removing unnecessary information. This is called lossy compression because some data on the image will be permanently removed. But if you compress it correctly, you won't notice much difference in image quality.
How to Use
Follow these simple steps to get started
Select Your JPEG Images
Click the upload area or drag and drop your JPEG files directly into the form. You can upload multiple images at once for batch compression. Each file can be up to 50MB in size.
Upload Your Images
Once you already selected your files, your uploaded images will automatically show in the form preview. You can review your images here, each preview has its own clear button to remove the uploaded image if you want to change it.
Adjust Quality Settings
Use the quality slider to control how much compression is applied to your images. You can use our default 80% for quality settings. Higher quality settings preserve more detail but it can result in larger file size.
Compress and Download
Click the compress button to start processing your images. The tool will optimize each of JPEG image uploaded using your selected quality settings. Once compression is complete, you can download images individually or as a bulk if you compressed multiple images.
